Hello,

Since a few days at the top left corner of my Windows 7/64 desktop suddenly a small "X1 Search Index is up-to-date" button appears and I don't succeed in removing it. It just happened two hours after booting my PC. Could someone please tell me why that happens and how to make disappear the button.

Thank you in advance and kind regards,

Anselm

Same here, running Windows 8.1. This is extremly annoying, as the button covers the toolbars of applications that are set to use full or halfscreen. The information it provides does not justify permanent visibility. Please do something about it.

I find that it fades into the background if I do anything. But its ghostly presence persists.

All,

Thanks for reporting this. We're looking into the issue to see if we can determine in what cases the X1 Notifcation Icon mouseover message appears in an unexpected location.

Can you please note whether you have made any changes to the Notification icon settings for X1? (i.e. Show Icon and Notifications, Hide Icon and Notifications, Show Only Notifications)

This is accessed by right-clicking the Windows taskbar notification area and choosing 'Customize notification icons'

Also, please note what version of Windows you are running (if not already provided here in the thread).

Thanks!

Hello,

In the "saved searches" folder, can you find one of the files that correspond to the broken searches,
they are xml text files with extension .x1s, and check what are the values for the Width properties for
the columns. I guess those values have gotten out of hand ...

Hello,

thanks for the info. We will make sure in the next versions to automatically correct such out-of-hand values.

Hello,
thank you for your answer, but it has been already done - without any change.
Any next idea?

If those messages exist, how about telling X1 to ignore that folder?

Upgraded to Outlook 2013, also on latest X1 8.3.2.1 (build 5003eb 64 bit) and now I see duplicate entries for emails stored in Public Folders, with the duplicate being in the path of /Recoverable Items/Deletions path.

I did a complete re-index and these went away, but over time, they come back. And, it's not for all emails, but it is for many.

The PC that this is showing on was fine with Outlook 2010 installed on it - so, I think it's the introduction of Outlook 2013. Note, this PC is not the one that is moving emails around - it is used just for indexing of X1. Note, other PCs with older X1 and Outlook 2010 are just fine - with no changes seen at all. That is, these other PCs don't see this recoverable items path duplicate emails at all.

Me too. X1 keeps moving the path. Most confusing.

This fixed the bug! Thanks for providing a solution quickly. The new install path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\X1 Beta\X1 Search\X1.exe" and not "C:\Program Files\X1 Search\X1.exe' anymore... confused me at first.

Cheers, Thorsten

All,

We've just released the fix for this issue. You can upgrade to 8.3.2.1 via Menu > Help > Check for Updates.

This fix does not require a re-index.

You can also initiate an upgrade by running the installer again, here:

http://download.x1.com/downloads/pro/X1SearchSetup.exe

Thanks for your patience while we worked to fix this!

Glad that you found the bug, but it is really irritating that just when my support license expired suddenly I am starting to have problems with x1....

All,

We have identified the cause for this issue. It appears to be a bug with the "Store Outlook Email Body in the Index". If this option is enabled, preview will fail.

We are working on a fix and will push out an update as soon as possible.

We don't believe a fix will require reindex so we recommend not deleting your index or reinstalling, and instead wait for the new version if possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks!
