Won't preview or open documents: "No Files In Selection"

I don't know about Mike, but my install is crippled now. I cannot preview or open anything, yet the search turns up results.

Should I delete my index and start that over? Any other actions?

As an example, I searched on a unique item, right click and no menu options are available. Double click and get the error "No Files in Selection"
